All of the technicalities, all of them!!!

time to thumbnail!

Since I had a general idea of what topics we were going to talk about, and I briefed my partner Zac on the vibes I wanted to achieve, I already had a couple of visuals in mind for my animation.

I pulled some thumbnails from this brainstorming session and put them into a general beat board below.

Now having a greater base to jump off of (my precious audio!!!) I've been coming up with much stronger visuals + want to focus a lot on the way my animation transforms. I'll flesh this out further in my animatic. It does feel like a bit of a tight turnaround though since I've gotta get my audio and boards done around the same time. But we're getting through it!

we recorded!

With my partner being out of state, we had to figure out how to get high quality audio of our conversation remotely. I rented out a zoom recorder and mic from the SOFA cage, and he borrowed a higher quality mic from my brother (thanks Colin!)

I worked a lot with my sound professor Dave, and he gave tips and tricks on the best conditions to record in! The recording came down to about an hour long, and I was able to cut it up into 6 minutes of the most integral parts in Pro Tools.

Things to keep in mind moving forward to 1m 30s cut:

  1. choose a specific topic, and stick to it

  2. what is the impact/intensity of what's being said, and how can I use that to move my audience?

  3. whatever I can't get across in words, I can definitely express through my animation

(1)screenshot of my protools session; (2)notes I took during my listen through for highlights; (3)specs of the microphone my partner used

version 1 of my production schedule

still got some further breaking down to do! gotta be more specific with animation especially

here's a quick peek at my asana as well! I've been using it for task management and it's been *mwah* chef kiss
