"Boricua's Dilemma" | Documentary | Animation Director

I worked with five other animators to create 20+ motion graphics, developed style guides and procedures for revision and rendering. The director, Sebastian Nazario-Colon, and I developed a style that was highly textural, wanting to portray feelings of conflict and grit.

Boricua's Dilemma has screened at the San Diego Latino Film Festival, New York Latino Film Festival, and was winner of Best Documentary Short at the Albany Film Festival 2024.

"Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and the Pursuit of the Respect Act" | Documentary | Art Director
Traditional collage, rotoscope animation and digital compositing

As the Art Director of the animation, I put together various mood boards and animation tests in order to establish a look that would match the tone of our main subject, Emily's story. I gave direction on look and technique for our experimental animator and our motion graphics designer. The above is a reel of my work from the project, composited in After Effects by me!

Below are examples of collaged assets, iterations of the title design, a custom font I created based on Emily's handwriting samples, and a sample mood board for our final look.
